State of The Foundation
STATE of the CCAR FOUNDATION - 2010
The Foundation, although still in its infancy, has held several successful fundraising activities which have resulted in generous contributions to several local charitable organizations. These contributions were made in keeping with the Foundation's mission statement and its goals to improve the quality of life in economically distressed neighborhoods within
- A donation of $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County for the 49 Union Street housing project was made in October 2007. The housing project was completed in mid-April 2008. On the recommendation of the CCAR Foundation, another $5,000 donation was added by the Maryland Association of Realtors® (MAR), for a total $15,000 Realtor® donation to the local Habitat. On the recommendation of the Foundation, CCAR made a donation to the Holiday Hope Fund of $5,010.00 in December 2008.
- Holiday for Hope is a program in which the Carroll County Times forms an alliance with Carroll County Food Sunday, Neighbors in Need, and Carroll Hospice to help the needy in our local community. Since 1999 this fund has raised $587,000.
- The CCAR was honored to make a second donation to Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County on behalf of the CCAR Foundation in the amount of $5,000 in January 2009. Although Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County has no new homes planned for construction in 2009, it does have several home renovation/ repair projects on its calendar which this donation will help fund.
- In 2009 a $5,000 donation and in 2010 a $2,500 donation were made by CCAR, at the recommendation of CCARF, to Carroll Hospital Center, a cornerstone of the Carroll County Communities.
The Carroll County Association of Realtors® Foundation, Inc. is proud to partner with local organizations and individuals who have compatible missions and goals to enrich the quality of life and give back to the communities they serve. Please consider becoming a part of our mission to serve and enrich your community by making a donation to the CCAR Foundation.
