The CCAR Foundation welcomes grant applications for program and project initiatives from organizations in Carroll County. Applicants must be qualified charitable organizations as defined under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. CCAR Foundation does not provide funding for on-going operating expenses.

Funding Guidelines

Grants are awarded to organizations located in Carroll County and portions of Baltimore, Frederick, and Howard counties. Geographical eligibility will be determined on a case by case basis.

Grants are awarded to organizations dedicated to the civil, cultural, educational, and humanitarian well-being of the residents of these communities.

Grant recipients must be 501 (c) (3) charitable organizations as defined in the Internal Revenue Code. Carroll County local government units are eligible for funding for project-specific initiatives.

Grants are provided for project or program initiatives. Funding is not available for organizational operating expenses. Grant applications are reviewed on a rolling basis at CCAR Foundation Board of Trustees meetings, which are held monthly.

Grants to religious and other membership organizations (such as fraternal groups) will be considered if the initiative for which funds are requested benefits the community at large without regard to religious or organizational affiliation. This applies to schools which may be affiliated with religious institutions.

Grant recipients must provide a written report to CCAR Foundation within 30 days after funds have been used, describing how the funds were used in accordance with CCAR Foundationʼs mission.

Grant recipients are requested to provide CCAR Foundation with photographs and other materials pertaining to the event or initiative funded, both before and after.
